Values etc, it is of course all nice on paper, but at some point, as you start living your values out loud they are going to be tested. This is where the stuff happens that truly matters, and when you are going to have to take action to preserve what you are looking to create for yourself. This is where stuff gets real.

What do you do next? Cave in? Take a step back and reflect? Take stock what counts, where to flex a bit and where to hold firm? Do you have a conscious practice, a way of doing this? It is good to have a think and feel about this before a situation happens, so you can be a bit more prepared when it does. Let your values and what they mean to you sustain you, and get help where needed.

Situations like these cut to the core. They are utterly confusing, particularly when your inner voice is whispering against the stadium-noise of a group. When you get hurt, it will hurt more and deeper as it will matter on a whole different level.

In the long-run (reminder: this is your life, this is the long run) you will be better off in an environment that embraces you for who and how you are and where your values flourish. As you take steps to address the immediate mess, allow your planning horizon to also becomes more long-term.
